Mooksa

Mooksa began in Santarcangelo di Romagna in 1989 as a meeting between musicians from different places, backgrounds and traditions. Its practice centres on finding original sounds through any available sonic material.

Its history includes concerts, performances, live music for theatre, sound environments for exhibitions and street theatre. The documentation lists Santarcangelo dei Teatri in 1990 and 1991, Arezzo Wave in 1994, and collaborations with Velemir Teatro, Teatro di Ventura and Teatro degli Dei.

These experiences led to Quartetto Mooksa, with an interest in jazz and the expressive possibilities of traditional music. The lineup with Rocco Papìa, Gianni Perinelli, Andrea Alessi and Stefano Calvano is preserved in the historical archive.
