ÀIQUE Trio

The name ÀIQUE echoes an exclamation by Macunaíma, the antihero of Mário de Andrade’s modernist novel. The trio takes this image as an invitation to travel without rushing: from the vast forest of the world’s musical traditions towards more urban and contemporary music, leaving room for the pleasure of exploration.

Rocco Papìa brings seven-string guitar, voice and his background in world music and jazz. Antony da Cruz, a bassist and double bassist born in São Paulo and based in Barcelona, plays five-string bass and sings. Crá Rosa, a percussionist from Salvador de Bahia, completes the trio with percussion and voice.
