Orquesta ReuSónica de Gràcia
An orchestra built together in public squares.
Build, listen and make music together.

A playful, creative workshop for building musical instruments from things usually discarded or used for other purposes. Bins, broom handles, tins and pipes become drums, snares, shakers and bells. The starting point is the whole sound world around us: listening to it, discovering its qualities and finding new ways to express ourselves.
The activity combines music education, imagination and environmental awareness. Participants collect and select materials, turn them into instruments and explore rhythm through games and collective activities, working towards a short performance or musical parade.
The workshop is designed for groups of up to 25 participants, aged eight and above. The recommended duration is two hours, with a minimum of one and a half hours per session; a series of sessions can also be arranged. It can take place outdoors or in a sufficiently spacious indoor setting. Requirements are one table for every five or six children, two tables for the facilitators and a 220 V power outlet.
The workshop provides tools and a basic materials kit. Participants are encouraged to bring objects from home using the available materials list. The Orquesta ReuSónica’s development also grew from experiences at the Posidonia Festival in Carloforte, where gathering materials began with cleaning Calalunga beach.
