Kaw Sissoko Trio

After ten years with the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio and international collaborations, Senegalese musician Kaw “Dialy Mady” Sissoko turned to his own compositions and West African traditions in a new trio.

Alongside Sissoko’s kora and voice, Rocco Papìa’s guitar and Tommy Ruggero’s percussion create a contemporary setting for musical stories and songs in Wolof and Bambara. Sissoko’s path began in a musical family in Dakar and includes training at the Douta Seck conservatory; Ruggero’s background includes studying West African polyrhythms.
