Jacaré
Songwriting and encounters with Brazil.

Founded by Rocco Papìa and Cristina Renzetti, Jacaré worked in several formations, from duo and trio to sextet. Dialogue between voices, instruments and improvisation shaped a body of songwriting, arrangements and encounters with Brazilian music.
The group released «Il Primo Passo» on Irma Records in 2007 and «La Fuga di Majorana» on Alfamusic in 2011. Winners of Bologna’s Iceberg Prize in 2007, they received Moovin’Up support for Brazilian tours in 2008 and 2009.
Their history includes performances at Bologna Jazz Festival, Crossroads and other festivals, radio and television appearances, and live collaborations with artists including Gabriele Mirabassi, Cristina Zavalloni, Vincenzo Vasi, Chico César and Sergio Krakowski. Different lineups included Tim Trevor-Briscoe, Stefano de Bonis, Davide Garattoni and Francesco Petreni, among others.
The project is preserved in the archive of groups no longer active, with discography, videos and historical material.
