Duo Dispari

Duo Dispari brings together Rocco Papìa and drummer and percussionist Roberto “Red” Rossi. Seven-string guitar, jaw harp and voices intertwine with drums and percussion in a project exploring Brazilian music, Afro-Peruvian music and jazz.

The name reflects an interest in asymmetry: a musical balance found and immediately set in motion again. Rossi’s background includes studying congas, deepening his knowledge of percussion in Brazil, and creating a personal setup that combines drum-kit elements with Afro-Brazilian instruments.
