Canti e Cunti contro le mafie

Theatre, words and music for a culture of responsibility.

Canti e Cunti contro le mafie

Conceived by Rocco Papìa, «Canti e Cunti contro le mafie» brings actors, musicians and activists together in a format devoted to shared responsibility and a culture of legality. Concerts, theatre, book presentations and public discussions reach different audiences through complementary artistic languages.

The Italian edition combines Teatroeducativo.it’s youth performance «Mal di Mafie», a round-table discussion with organisations such as Libera, Libero Futuro and AddioPizzo, and Talèa’s «Rosa canta e cunta», with translations of the Sicilian lyrics. The programme can include a school matinée and an evening open to families and the public.

Barcelona’s 2019 edition included school encounters with Claudio Stassi and Talèa, a discussion with Joan Queralt and Claudio Stassi moderated by Paola Lo Cascio, and concerts by Talèa and Ensamble Oiné. The materials document these historical editions.
