Waste Spectrum

The artwork, created using waste collected on the island of Palma de Mallorca, graphically represents the sound spectrum of an audio production that narrates the sonic story of the flow of tourists through the island, highlighting the environmental impact of pollution.

The artwork explores the impact of mass tourism on the territory, the anthropological and cultural structure, and the Mallorcan ecosystem through the methodology of creative reuse of waste, as developed in the concept of Creative Reuse Artworks.

Waste Spectrum is a piece created from waste collected on the island’s beaches and cliffs, enhanced with electronics, video, and sound art that engages the public through the exploration of sound archives, creating a conceptual and multisensory journey.
